Hi George, I have been reading some of your blog. How was the drive to Alaska? The wife and I have been talking to some friends and they have told us that the road thru Canada and the Alaska Highway will destroy a 5th Wheel, especially the slides. I assume you guys drove up there, did you experience any issues with your Cedar Creek as a result of the road conditions? As we are considering the trip is there any advise you could impart to us, such as prep, extra stuff, parts and what not?

Hi Jerry,
We are only halfway through this part of the journey, but so far so good! We will post some of our trip specifics that I hope will address some of your questions. Do it! This place is awesome!

Jerry, there have been many people who have gone to Alaska with these Cedar Creeks. The "Magnificent Seven" went up in 2007 in a caravan and all made it back! We went up with another club member in 2014, and while there were couple of issues, the Creeks came out fine. I must say that the issues probably would have happened in the lower 48 just as easily as up there. Until you get to Whitehorse, the roads are pretty much like they are anywhere. After Whitehorse, there are many frost heaves and you just have to realize it and take it easy. The same with all of Alaska--slow and easy. We even went over the "top of the world" highway and crossed the Yukon on a ferry! So don't let anyone talk you out of using your Cedar Creek for traveling. Ours has been to 49 states and most of Canada. Haven't taken it to Hawaii yet.

Wow ... George & Ann Marie, loved your fishing adventure and great pictures!! That had to be so exciting!!
I can't imagine what I would do if I reeled in a big fish Ann Marie. Someday ... around a real Image campfire, Frank can tell you about a fish I caught once. We're going to miss you two here at F.R.O.G. this year!!
