2017 International Rally

Postby Mrs Greentow » Sat Jul 11, 2015 9:51 am

Tentative itinerary for the rally. We can add or delete items from this list at the meet and greet or here, still time to make changes.

Fresh Brewed Coffee every morning at Torbin's site from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM

Sunday, 20 August.
• Meet and Greet 5:30. (Location to be added later) Bring your favorite Hors d’ oeuvres to share, and as always bring your own drink, plates and utensils (unless told otherwise not to).

Monday, 21 August. More campers arrive.
• Take this day to explore the area- free day.

Tuesday, 22 August. Currently two adventures are planned. (I am trying to get a bus for a group tour of Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park)
1) Our President, Laverne is taking the “Light house” boat tour Tuesday morning. It leaves at 9:30AM and takes 3 hours. The cost is $49 (plus tax I'm sure) each. Then we will spend the remainder of Tuesday sightseeing in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Feel free to join the party if you are so inclined.
2) Dennis and Renee are taking a cruise out of Bar Harbor. It is a 3.5 hour cruise, whale watching! We are going on Tuesday August 22nd, the boat leaves dock at 4:30 pm and returns about 8, it is the sunset cruise. The boat shown on the web site looks pretty big so I think there is room for more, come-on Creekers let's fill some seats! The name of the cruise company is Bar Harbor Whales Co. http://www.barharborwhales.com
Really easy to reserve online, cost is about $125 per couple. It will be a late night getting back to the campground, 10pm or later.
Attendees
Suggest this night that dinner be on your own. Those staying back at the campground, go out to eat?

Wednesday, 23 August.
• Private Bus Tour to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Cost $30 each (working on a discount, hoping everyone will want to go). Tour is 2.5-3 hours long with stops along the way for picture taking. Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to go so I can make the arrangements.

Thursday, 24 August.

10:00 AM Golf Outing
• 5:30 Pot luck (lobster$) supper. Bring a side dish and/or dessert to share.

Friday, 25 August.
• Another day for sightseeing and shopping. Maybe schedule a trip to LL Bean with some other campers.

Saturday, 26 August.
• 8:30 Breakfast pot-luck. Bring items to share.
•Club Dinner
Menu:
1/2 Grilled Rotisserie Chicken
Baked Potato
Corn on the Cob
Coleslaw and a roll
Apple or Wild Berry Pie
Coffee or Tea

Sunday, 27 August.
• Open some campers are scheduled to leave. Brown bag it or go out to eat???

We are thinking of holding it at the Pumpkin Patch RV Resort located in Hermon, Maine' The Pumpkin Patch RV Resort provides a quiet and relaxing country atmosphere. They are within driving distance to many coastal areas including Rockland, Camden, Castine,

Maine boasts of more than 60 lighthouses, many of which can be accessed by car. Interesting places to visit nearby are the Lumberman's Museum, Ft. Knox, Leonard's Mills Forest & Logging Museum, Penobscot Marine Museum, Children's Museum, Coles Transportation and Stephen King's home. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy golfing, stock car racing, harness racing, miniature golf and bowling. For those shopaholics we are close to a major mall, flea markets, antique and collectible shops. Not to mention the LOBSTER!!!

We would be very interested in attending the rally in Maine BUT...It is extremely doubtful that we will attend if it is held in August AFTER FROG, as school will be in session and I (Marla) can't take off that much time especially when school is just getting started. If you decide to do it in June (or even in July BEFORE F.R.O.G), we could attend but regretfully we will not be able to come in August.

I am so glad to see members would like to go to Maine, I am also very sorry that it won't fit into to others schedules, due to school and or work.
Personally I have only been to Maine once (thank you Pete and Jane) and can't wait to go back.
I will be doing more work on dates after we attend this years FROG, I am hoping Bob Byrnes can give me the dates for the next 2 FROG rallies.
Starting to get excited now.... =D> =D> =D>

Leanne

Sue- just means you might need to do like Frank & Linda and buy a new truck... :P #-o
